Did you know Port St. Lucie has the 3rd lowest city tax rate of the top 20 largest cities in Florida? The city council has cut our city property tax rate 8 years in a row, a 21.5% total reduction. My colleagues and I are focused on doing all we can to make your tax bill as low as possible.

Property Taxes

While Council doesn't have authority to control growth approved years ago, we are planning for the growth we know is coming by focusing on mobility, transportation, and infrastructure. Council is committed to ensuring developers pay for their impacts so taxpayers aren't on the hook.

Growth

The city's mobility plan focuses on connectivity, sidewalks, trails, bike lanes, and the future of transportation. A recent agreement with St. Lucie County ensures a proportionate amount of developer-paid fees will be spent on roads city residents actually use.

Traffic & Mobility

The City of Port St. Lucie has attracted thousands of new jobs from businesses such as Amazon, TAMCO/City Electric, Accel International, Oculus Surgical, Cheney Brothers, FedEx, and Expert Shutters. These companies are all providing jobs above the area's median wage in targeted industries.

Jobs

The City of Port St. Lucie is proud to be consistently named the safest large city in Florida. Recently, the US News and World Report ranked us the 2nd safest large city in the country. The Council remains focused on supporting law enforcement, especially recruitment and retention efforts.

Public Safety

Our diverse array of parks and city events make our community a great place to live for people of all ages and backgrounds. Exciting projects upcoming include regional parks in Tradition and Torino, development at City Center, and Dining Docks at The Port District.
